Ms. Lisa Deveau has spent the last decade working in education as a teacher, policing as an officer, and healthcare as a social worker. Her Masters research highlights and focuses on the lack of standardize police training de-escalation and mental health. Her mission is to bring about systemic change within police training to incorporate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills that improve police training and response to citizens, especially for those experiencing or suffering from a mental health crisis. Her work has been published in the Community Safety and Wellbeing Journal and presented at the International Law Enforcement and Public Health Conference.
