Prior to founding Clearspeed, Alex served in the U.S. Marine Corps leading infantry, reconnaissance and special operations units over 4 operational deployments. Upon leaving active duty, he founded a private maritime security company based in Muscat, Oman, and later lived and worked in rural Kenya for two years as the Team Leader for Nuru International, a social enterprise dedicated to ending extreme poverty.
Alex holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, a BS from the United States Naval Academy, and is a graduate of Stanford Business School’s IGNITE Program in Entrepreneurship and the Marine Corps War College.
